A DIY ‘Gem’ : First Cut’s diamond circular saw blades for masonry applications provide quality and cost-effectiveness
08 August 2012

An appreciation of market needs has resulted in the addition of a range of diamond circular saw blades to First Cut’s portfolio. This leading local distributor of high-quality global cutting brands can now service the masonry and paving market with tried and tested products from Steinbach.

“First Cut continuously draws on its close relationships with its client base to ascertain current demand. In line with our own business strategy, we identified that a superior range of affordable diamond circular saw blades would be extremely synergistic with our existing product offering,” says Gary Willis, Sales Director for First Cut.

Willis points out that the Steinbach range of cutting blades is extensive, but for the interim First Cut will concentrate on marketing its diamond circular saw blades for masonry do-it-yourself (DIY) and larger applications, such as cutting asphalt. “There is a demand in this market for diamond circular saw blades that are capable of readily and efficiently cutting building bricks and paving blocks, at an attractive price. In addition, with various grades and sizes available, the diamond blades are perfect for chasing walls and cutting lintels,” says Willis.

“First Cut currently supplies a number of circular saw blades from various globally-recognised manufacturers. Our product offering includes cold blades for cutting pipes, shafts and other tubular elements; and circular saw blades for steel, rubber, cloth, leather, paper and cardboard. The diamond circular saw blades complement the current range and provide our clients with a one-stop resource for their cutting applications,” Willis adds.

The first shipment of blades, branded under the First Cut banner, arrived in South Africa in March 2012. “The existing range of circular saw blades distributed by First Cut has reached an optimum maturity level within the market. We have been carefully analysing the local market and we felt that the time was perfect to introduce the Steinbach diamond circular saw blades. We have had an extremely positive response to their inclusion into our selection of superior cutting products,” adds Willis.

“First Cut’s primary focus with the Steinbach diamond circular saw blades is the DIY market sector. The products are supplied in very appealing packaging, for ready incorporation into the display units of leading retail outlets,” Willis points out.

“Versatility and customer service underline First Cut’s strategic business philosophy. By introducing the Steinbach diamond circular saw blades to our extensive range of cutting consumables, we are able to extend our client base and simultaneously satisfy our existing client requirements,” Willis concludes.
