Handy Eclipse range gives retailers and their customers the essential tools they need
29 June 2012

The success of retailers is dependent on being able to provide their diverse customer base with a range of affordable products that will perform the tasks for which they were designed, on a consistent basis.

“Retailers rely on both repeat business and word-of-mouth business for their success. While advertising may bring new customers through the doors, the experience the customer has with tools bought from hardware and building retailers will determine whether they frequent the store again,” says Gary Willis, Sales Director at First Cut.

First Cut has built a solid reputation as a supplier of capital equipment to the industrial and engineering markets, but just as important is its perceived status as a supplier of high-quality consumables from well-known international suppliers.

“By surrounding ourselves with suppliers who invest time, capital and energy into delivering products that are designed to stand the test of time in a reliable and productive manner, we are able to provide the retail market with reputable and reliable products”, says First Cut Managing Director Andrew Poole.

“First Cut is not only the leader in cutting consumables but is also acknowledged as the market leader in hacksaw frames and blades,” says Willis. “We are able to make this claim because of the product range we manufacture under licence in South Africa to UK tool manufacturer Neill Tools. One of their leading tool ranges is known as Eclipse and First Cut is in the fortunate position of manufacturing and distributing a wide range of their products since 1998.”

Ideally suited to both DIY and professional users, the Eclipse range of tools includes hacksaw blades, frames and holesaws; woodsaws and bevel edge chisels; vices and clamps and cable/wire cutters; pipe and adjustable wrenches; pipe and tube cutters; pipe benders and deburring tools; pliers and locking pliers; stand and specialist cold chisels; SDS Plus drill bits; torque wrenches; socket sets; and tape measures.

“The Eclipse range covers a number of applications, including metal cutting, metalworking, wood cutting, woodworking, work holding, plumbing, automotive drilling and measuring. The sheer diversity means that retail outlets are guaranteed to reach a wide market by stocking the Eclipse brand,” says Willis.

“Retail customers need to know that the tools they buy will be guaranteed and have an after-sales service in place from the original supplier. Buying low cost tools can cost more than high-quality tools, in the long term, due to issues with guarantees and exchange policies. All Eclipse products are supplied with a full guarantee and the assurance that they are manufactured to the highest standards and tolerance levels,” Poole concludes.
